Location Scouting
These are some of the place which i am planning on filming in.
Some of my trailer is in a school setting which means i am using typical school scenes such as lockers. I am setting some of my trailer outside of school, which means that i am using parts of school which do not look school based such as the bench.
Character Profile

After spending an hour at her new school she gets bored and manages persuade to Josh to take the day off school and spend it with her. The day takes a turn when Nancy's car gets stolen. Audience Research Maganize Covers and Film Posters
Most people said that the colour was the first thing that stood out to them.
This let me know that i have to have a strong constant colour scheme that is suitable for my film.
I also gave my audience a choice of three film maganize and asked them which ones they prefer and why. This allowed me to see what type of film Maganize cover i should try to make.
Most people said that they perfered the " Total Film" cover. This means that i need to give my Film Maganize cover a mainstream affect.
In response to why they perfered this most people said because the picture on the main cover and the colours used. This again told me that i need to have a strong picture which stands out and captures the film.

Audience Research Findings Film Trailer

My audience research showed that my main target audience are females aged 16-20. This means that i have to use conventions that appeal to teenage girls. My audience research also shows that the prefered genre is Romance. People also said they also liked comedy so i will try to add in elements of comedy.
My audience research also showed that when people listed their favourite films they perfered them becuase of the characters used aswell as the plot. This tells me that my trailer has to be character based aswell as having a orginal intriguing plot.

Product Research Trailer
The film starts off with the main character in a close up talking into the camera. This automatically suggest that he is the main character and the plot is central around him. This is not a typical convention of film trailers. This is also an indication that the film is given through his point of view and suggest that he narrates the film.
The film then goes on to show all the characters in the film talking about the main character "Ferris Buller" .
The film shows people from all aspects of Ferris life, talking about him. E.g, his best friend, his headteacher, his sister. They talk about all the different aspects of his personality and what type of person he is.
This allows the audience to get an insight into the main character without him talking about himself what so ever. The audience are intrigued to what sort of character he is and what part he plays in the film.
There is no voice over in the film until right at the end when the actor is being introduced and the name of the film is given . This is used effectively as the main description of the film is given by the clips from the film.
There is classical music played throughout the trailer. This subverts the " teenage rebellion" theme of the film. The music is calm and slow which contradicts the plot of the film. This makes the conventions original as it is the normal fast rock music usually played in this genre of film.

Product Research Trailer
This film trailer does not feature the institution, or the director or any stars, which is not a typical convention of film trailers.
The film starts off with a black screen with a changing words. The words on the film are changing, they suggest the different themes of the film.
The trailer does not feature any scenes from the film whatsoever.
However all the sound used is dialogue from the film. This is a way of giving the audience insight into the the film which makes it more intriguing and gives the audience more suspense as they don't actually get any visual footage from the film which is not a typical convention of film trailers.
In the background of the film there is a pix elated picture which emerges behind the title sequence. At the end of the film a a picture of the main characters is given. This again creates a sense of anti caption as this is the only visual footage from the film.
The name of the film is in the same font of the social networking site, Facebook.
This is an indication that the film is about the the social networking site. Considering that it is a very popular site people may be interested the film as it as it is central to the plot.
Product Research Trailer
The trailer starts off with the main couple holding hands.
The voice over then says " this is not a love story, this is a story about love"
This is used as a selling point as the audience may be intrigued to this not being a typical love story and being a subversion.
The title screen constantly appears enforcing the name of the film. The colour of the title screen constantly changes colour which could reflect the constant changing moods and the development though out the film. The
Through the trailer there is no dialogue from the characters, just the voice over which is a typical convention of film trailers.
The voice over constantly says 500 days
"500 days of" E.g 500 days of Los angles, 500 days of promises" This is a typical convention of teaser trailers.
This is a way of expressing the journey the two characters go on.
The use of the phrase 500 days of summer emphasises the importance of the time period.
A spilt screen is used as way of splitting the two characters and showing the differences they share. This is way of showing the conflict during the film. This is used in contrast to the happy scenes used.
In a scene they use rotoscope, which gives the film a more abstract, arty comic book feel. This is another way this is subverted.
The director of the film is not given showing that it is not expected to be used as a selling point. Also the name of the main stars are not given until towards the end of the trailer. However considering it character based, the stars could be used as a selling point to those who have seen them before.
The close up of the characters though tout the film creates emphasis on the two character enforcing that they are the central to the plot.
The music used is the same song though out the trailer, which could show that this is the theme tune to the film. This is used as a selling point as people will automatically associate the song with the film.
